Don't miss Wailua Golf Course!

Unfortunately, there are very few Kauai golf deals.

Fortunately, The Garden Island, as Kauai is also known, is a lovely destination with much to do other than striking the dimpled sphere.

If your intention is to play golf...

...we are pleased to tell you there is one 18-hole beauty, which is by far the best golf value, and one of the most charming golf experiences, in the entire Aloha State. There is also a nine-hole layout with perhaps the most stunning vistas to be enjoyed from any golf course in Hawaii.

The sensational Wailua Municipal Golf Course has thrice hosted the USGA National Public Links Championships. This stunning and well-maintained oceanfront course is a "can't-miss" for every golfer visiting Kauai and the best reason to bring your golf clubs along, especially if you are playing golf on The Big Island before or after your visit to Kauai. Its front nine kicks off with three beachfront holes along the exhilarating Coconut Coast and proceeds to wind through palm-drenched fairways. The back nine delivers more elevation and shotmaking opportunities, which culminates at one of Hawaii's best par-3s, with its ocean backdrop, at the 17th Hole. There are also the spectacular views from the other public entry, the McBryde Foundation's nine-hole layout, Kukuiolono Golf Course, which sits high atop a knoll near the South Shore communities of Koloa and Poipu in Kalaheo. Not a particularly well-maintained track, but there is much to appreciate when the price ($9 for unlimited golf + optional cart) and surroundings are considered. Sugar baron Walter McBryde even watches over his generous gift to the people of Kauai from his grave in the midst of a lovely Japanese garden near the 8th Tee.
