When considering a Kauai golf vacation, there is not much to consider in the way of value anymore, except the Aloha State's best golf value at Wailua Municipal Golf Course. This splendid oceanfront layout is by far the best municipal course in Hawaii and has proven it three times by hosting national events sponsored by the United States Golf Association. Planted right on the beach about four miles north of Lihue Airport, Wailua is a "can't miss" golf destination onto itself, and a bargain to boot.
You will have to make a critical decision regarding a visit to Kauai.
Just how important is it for you to play golf on the lovely Garden Island?
If you really want to play, two weekday rounds at Wailua will not disappoint. You might also enjoy the sensational views and $9 unlimited greens fee at Kukuiolono Park Golf Course, a nine-hole charmer in the bluffs above the South Shore at Kalaheo.
If you want great golf designs and unlimited golf at 50%-75% less than one-round at Kauai's courses, VISIT THE BIG ISLAND.
If you are compelled to experience Kauai and see Waimea Canyon, the North and South Shores, Hanalei Bay, the Napali Coast, the Coconut Coast, Kalapaki Bay, eyefuls of waterfalls and coastline, visit the Garden Island for 4-5 nights before or after the Big Island (where you can golf to your heart's content for a fraction of the cost).
