In fact, on a hot day it is a welcome change of pace from the Kohala Coast. The Waipi'o Valley links-style design features several holes bordered by vast stands of eucalyptus. The front nine allows drivers to be employed, while the back nine screams shotmaking and shot values. The friendly Bentgrass greens are rare in Hawaii. Not much roll, so Waimea plays very long from the tips. Don't forget to bring a jacket and a towel, as the refreshing weather can change quickly.
